We are looking for a
Researcher (m/f) – AWS Truepower, a UL Company
for a EU funded European Project in the fields of numerical weather prediction and seasonal forecasting.
Researcher in a EU funded Project in the fields of numerical weather prediction and seasonal forecasting. The individual will support company research and products employing atmospheric models as well as data analysis and development of software.
The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience in the use of atmospheric numerical models and scientific programming. He/she must be able to write, modify, execute, and maintain software in support of internal research initiatives and externally sponsored client projects. Candidates should also have strong communication (spoken and written) and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Ability to work effectively with colleagues, meet deadlines, perform high-quality analyses data, assess and validate results. Candidates must be willing to make scientific presentations and publish reports and articles.
Ph.D. or M.Sc. in atmospheric sciences, mathematics or engineering.
Experience and qualifications
Five years of demonstrable experience in the use of atmospheric numerical models, programming, use of graphics packages, statistical models, data analysis software and methods.
Demonstrated general knowledge of scientific disciplines.
Demonstrated ability to maintain academic and applied knowledge and skills.
Excellent communication skills required.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
This position will be located in Barcelona, Spain. Some travel will be required.
